From here on in the organiser refers to Pole Expressions (ABN 49 258 991 756)

The competitor is the person or group applying to compete in a Pole Expressions competition.

1. General

A – Competitors must always comply with the competition rules and regulations.
B – The organiser reserves the right to change the rules at any time.
C – Competitors who are found to violate any rules and regulations may be disqualified from all future Pole Expressions events and/or have titles and awards removed.
D – Application can only be submitted by the competitor for solo events, or one representative participating in the event for group events.
E – Competitors may enter more than one division. Each entry requires a unique entry video.
F – Entry fee is payable per division entry. Entry fees are not refundable.
G – Competitor location/studio representation is specified below for the different events.
H – Age requirements for Pole Expressions events are listed below.
I – A winner will be announced from each division.
J – The winning title is held for approximately 12 months until the next competition where the title is handed over to the new winner.

2. Performance

A – Competitors perform at their own risk. The organiser is not liable for any injury or damage caused from participating in this competition.
B – All props must be approved by the organiser – Props must be able to be set up and packed up (including all clean up) within 60 seconds by one person. Props must be interacted with throughout the performance. Scenery that is placed on stage and not interacted with will incur a 5 point deduction. C – Competitors must not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol at any time directly prior or during the competition.
D – Any type of footwear is allowed, including boots and bare feet.
E – Gloves are allowed.
F – Grip aids can only be applied to the body, there will be no grip aids applied to the pole.
G – Approved grip aids are Dry Hands, Tite Grip, Mighty Grip, Girlie Grip, No Sweat, Griptinite, Dancing Dust and Koala Grip.
H – Performance times for the Pole Expressions events are listed in the event rules. The organiser may alter the maximum performance times and will notify all successful finalists.

3. Judging (video and live competition)

A – The judge’s decision is final.
B – Competitors must not talk to the judges throughout the competition.
C – Scores and feedback will be provided by request after the competition.
D – Please refer to Judging Criteria for specific information for each division.

4. Music

A – Profanity is not allowed in the music (radio edit or clean version). Here is an example
B – Music must be supplied in full as one piece.
C – Competitors must supply their music to the organiser at least 3 weeks prior to the event.
D – The same song may not be the same used more than once within the competition. Preference will be given to the first person who submitted their song choice.

5. Costumes

A – Nudity is not allowed.
B – Pasties are not allowed.
C – Costumes must provide good coverage of all private areas. Buttocks must be covered a minimum of 50%. Failure to adhere to costume requirements will incur a 5 point deduction.

6. Video Entry

A – Video must be no more than 6 months old.
B – Video must be between 2-4 minutes long.
C – Your video entry should display the division you are entering.
D – The routine performed during video entry does not have to be the routine you complete in the final competition.

7. Competition poles

A – 2 x 40mm Brass x-poles.
B – Poles will be approximately 3.0 – 3.5 m apart.
C – Poles are approximately 3.2 metres high.
D – Pole configuration specifics provided below.

8. Photography and Film

A – All photography and videography remain the property of Pole Expressions.
B – The competitor has no rights to compensation for photography or other footage taken throughout the duration of the rehearsals and competition.
